Who we’re looking for

Subject experts who know how to connect with students.

We’re currently especially interested in tutors who can teach the following subjects.

  1. Mathematics

    Build strong foundations in algebra, functions, calculus, and data management through clear explanations and guided practice.

  2. Chemistry

    Help students connect atomic structure, chemical reactions, and quantitative problem-solving to the ideas behind each calculation.

  3. Physics

    Make motion, forces, energy, and electricity easier to understand through practical examples and step-by-step reasoning.

  4. Biology

    Bring cells, genetics, evolution, and living systems into focus by connecting key concepts to real-world examples.

  5. English

    Develop confident readers and writers through literary analysis, clear essay structure, and thoughtful feedback.

We’re also interested in exceptional tutors in other academic subjects. Experience with the Ontario curriculum is an asset.

Is this a full-time position?

Tutoring with Pelly Academy is built around your schedule. You tell us when you’re available and how many students you’d like to take on.

Do I have to tutor in person?

No. You can tutor virtually from anywhere, take on local in-person students, or do both. You’ll let us know your preference on the interest form.

Can I choose how many students I take?

Yes. Tell us how many students you’d like to take on and when you’re available, and we’ll contact you when students match your subjects, location and availability.

Do I need to be a certified teacher?

We’re looking for experienced, engaging tutors who know their subject and how to connect with students. Experience with the Ontario curriculum is an asset.

What subjects are you currently hiring for?

We’re especially interested in tutors for Grades 7–12 mathematics (including Functions, Advanced Functions, Calculus and Data Management), Grades 7–10 general science, and Grades 11–12 chemistry and physics. We’re also interested in exceptional tutors in other academic subjects.

What happens after I apply?
